So I show up with all the other yahoos to meet Don and get inline. It was crazy to see all the middle age men line up with the die cast cars to get signed. What a bunch of DBs. You know the were there to get a signed car so the could put it on flee bay the next day for some big money... as the line proceeded I finally got my moment. I shaked don’s hand, shared a short kind word and slowly pulled out what I brought to get signed. Of course, it was that picture I stared at as a boy til I became a young adult. The one that was still in the old gold plated ornate frame from K-Mart. It still even had the 99 cent price tag on it. I won’t lie, fi fumbled and figured to pull it out of the frame. As I finally handed it over t be signed, dons eyes lit up!

Before I could get a word out he was inspecting and rattling off what swamp rat each of them were. Then he finally asked, “was that you in the pic...?” Yup! He signed and and we both shared a smile and thank you as the line had to continue moving.. I never got a definitive reaction but I truly feel he appreciated that as much as I did... sorry for the long winded response but I had to do my best to compare to your awesome narrative stories.

2. I still would dig some pics of that tire carrier. At some point when the kids get a little older I want to to back to the island.

Great stuff!

Have heard similar stories from many.
Hes the real deal.

I was a huge drag race fan until it went all corporate 10 or so yrs ago.
Paint the cars the same and can’t tell them apart.

I loved the era of Bob Glidden, Warren Johnson, Joe Ammato etc, etc.

Liked when they were all experimenting.

Really enjoyed Pro Stock bike too until Harley got the NHRA to re-write the rule book for them.
2500cc v-twin’s against 1500cc in-line 4’s 😂

When I lived in Vermilion I drove my Super Bee to Norwalk Raceway Park, jacked it up, bolted on slicks, and went racing.
The hard core Guys went crazy when they saw this.

Told me that’s where it all started and thanked me for doing it.

BTW, the tracks owner, Bill Bader just went on record saying he’s opening his track regardless of what the gov says!
Says it’s all exaggerated and they have no clue who he is or what he needs!

And sorry, forgot about your picture of the spare tire mount.

Here ya go.
Have done several this way and is a great way to keep it out of the way.

What are the odd’s?

Gary, that's why I just used mine. ..

Nice!

I put mine as close together as possible to preserve swim platform space.
The starboard motor could have used the old exhaust port but port motor rigging port points straight at middle of transom.

PS, your ****s way too pretty to run.

Yeah it's pretty tough swimming. I just climb up the tab and use the box to step up but it would be tough for the wife. She won't go in the water anyway..

I am working hard to preserve what little platform space I have.

My motors rigging ports are on starboard/front sides.
So my starboard motors tube almost hit OEM exhaust port.

Port motor rigging port points almost to center of transom, leaving port side of platform open.
