Thank you sir.

For me, 1/2 of the satisfaction is building what you want.

If no one else has one, so much the better.

Think spring!

Thx Lars!

I am itching to go into the motors but at this point, I haven’t even gotten to the top of what it will run as is.

Most gratifying so far though has been how well it works as a recreational cuddy cabin and is a beast (Welterweight?) in the rough!

Sometimes when we’re tied in a marina w/the shore power hooked up, and the Bimini is up, coffee is on, bellow, and the folding bikes are parked on the dock behind the boat…, I just soak it all in w/a **** eatin grin.

After docking beside a boat w/these, they will likely be a winter upgrade.
Very cool lil boogers!

Testing and experimenting…….

I have reversed prop rotation from out to in to see how it affects handling.
Havent tested yet but will before doing bellow.

And after many beers and much starring, I’ve decided to convert the motors from 25” mids to 20” mids.
This will drop 900 lbs of motors 5”.

Bad thing is, I will lose most if not all of the around dock handling by not being able to bury the motors when coming in to dock.

Any wind at all and it swings around the motors.

An besause I couldn’t help myself…..

Already had one of the very rare Lightning gearcases and when a 2nd came up on Craig’s last weekend….., w/a hangover, no money, I did the 2 1/2 hr trip to Cinci to tag it!

They we’re never offered as LH rotation so I’ll have to roll my own like I did on my last 24 Sonic.

Best thing I did this winter was, take a break from the boat to work on the MG.
Brain was fried from working on the boat!

Now I’m rejuvenated 🤪

My MO on these projects typically is to prove my science project works, then sell it to someone else to make it pretty!

But…, I got material to finish the headliner, installed a stereo, etc…….

Think Spring!

OBSonic,

Not knowing anything about OBs, I'm gonna wager turning them in will make the boat erratic in turns. My logic is that, as the boat leans to the right in a RH turn, the left prop losing its bite, the right prop will dig in a bite, pulling the transom to the left, exaggerating the steer. Turning them out will have the opposite effect, the right prop trying to pull the transom to the right, loading the turn against the steer. Just my guess. News at eleven, I guess...

Thanks. Brad.

I agree. Hated my boat turning in. Gary you should be able to spin out not needing the extra bow lift with your cg on that setup...but just a thought

Do a search on the subject on here Brad.

There is tons of info but most is in theory.
Very little, real world comparison’s on same boat.

Plus all is relative to IO’s.

I tried it on my first twin OB 24’ Sonic and it didn’t like it.

But w/existing handling on this boat, it’s a free test I’m willing to try.

Cary, no argument from me brother.

I read that all Fountains came w/wheels turning in so someone made it work.

Well see.

W/my motors, it just gear cases so easy switch.

If the boat doesn’t like it w/the 25’s then I’ll switch back when converting to the 20’s.
