Best thing to do is rent a crane truck for the day. Or if they will by the hour. If your ready, maybe 1/2 hr. Cheap insurance to be safe. Trying to 1/2 ass it to save a few $$$ in the end will cost you big time if something goes bad. And you know it will. Good luck.

What is the "bottom work" you want to do and why?

If the boat involved is the 1991 Checkmate in your profile you might consider the cost/hassle vs. boat value equation before you begin.

Not sure what the difference between dropping a bot inside or outside is going to make and my efforts have been noting less than full assed lol

It might be easier to put some boat stands under it. Don't know what work or if engines still in, or gas in tanks. Just a thought.

Yeah a lot of shops just raise the boat up on stands or hoist it up and block it and work from underneath.

When we flipped my 24 Python
I built a heavy duty engine stand type apparatus that bolted where the transom assy goes.
The mount was set at
12 degrees (if i remember correctly) into it so the pivot would stay parallel with the ground.
Then used a chainfall with a nylon strap in the front and another chainfall to lift one side of the transom.

Another easier way is to just raise one side up and do just one side at a time. Put your strap on one of the transom eyes and another strap around the whole boat forward more. Call me if you want some ideas. 908-966-3173 Randy
