I purchased an engine block from Cobra Power and need to get it shipped to Washington State. The estimated shipping cost was going to be around $65.00 which seemed about right to me but for various reasons they were not able to have it shipped to me so I have to arrange shipping. I called a few places and have received a low quote of $800.00!!! I don't know a thing about shipping items over 150 lbs. This thing is in a box, on a pallet, and weighs 240 lbs. I don't care how long it takes to get here, I just need to get it here for about $65.00. It will be going from postal code 33181 to 98443. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Thanks

Jim, try www.forwardair.com. they are a trucking company with a terminal at every major airport in the US. All you would need is someone to bring it to a Forward Air terminal in FL and pick it up at the terminal nearest to you. I have used them many times shipping motorcycles all over the country and they are fantastic and extremely reasonable.

Thanks guys, I don't think Cobra has any time to drop anything off anywhere. They were inundated with emails after placing the classified ads for all the parts CHEAP!!. They are not setup to do this stuff either. I will check with freightquote.com. I only paid $400.00 for the block. I'm not willing to pay more than a hun for shipping.

Jim. You might try www.rlcarriers.com. I used them to get my trans from Fla to GA......granted it was only from the Miami area to Atlanta, not far at all, but the service was excellent.

Well freightquotes wants $442.00 cheapest. I'd sure like to know where the idea of about $65.00 to ship came from. I would never have bought this block if I thought shipping was going to be this much.

Jim, 65.00 is a little on the low side, but I shipped a 250 Can Am dirt bike from Boston to Salt Lake city Utah for just under 100.00 through Forward Air. Try to get some one local to bring it to the terminal for you.
