i dont mean to hi jack thread, but if you don’t mind me asking what did your 377 package run on speed? I have same motors in mine, and what props please 1.65 drive or 1.50 thanks in advance!

I was running 32 Bravo 4 blade props with a 1.65 drive. It was the only Fountain I have seen to turn the props out instead of in. I guess it gave the boat more stability. Top speed was 80-81 depending on conditions. One other thing about the twin 29's is they are incredibly easy to dock. Seriously, it was the easiest boat around the docks I have ever driven.

thank you, mine spin in and it’s a pain in the azz to dock, gona try sinning out this weeekend to see if it cures it at all!
im spinning 28s with 1.50 drives Cruz speed is amazing, just had out drives rebuild so being easy on her for a few hours have never opened it up all the way with the 28s yet!

Sweet post. Did the twins make for a softer ride in rough water (from the extra weight) than the single?

Thanks. The twin engine boat might ride a little better at slow speeds The single engine 29 rides better in rough water at higher speeds. The extra weight of the twin is all in the far back of the boat so it doesn't fly as level. I really like both boats but they drive very different.

I bought the 29 Single last year and only ran it for a couple of months before winter. It came with two props and both are lab finished with some work done to them. A 28 4 blade bravo and a 30 4 blade bravo. It is running a 1.5 ratio bravo XR. I don't like either prop because there is way too much slippage throughout the rpm range. Once I get the boat out of storage for the summer next month I will be trying multiple different props to see what I like best for it. Right now the 30 will take it about 82 mph at 5600 rpms and the cruise speed is horrible because of the slippage. The max power comes at 5400 rpms so I need a taller prop or one that has more bite. I think a 5 blade maximus would work best but I don't think the drive would like it so I am going to stick with props with less bite than the maximus but more than the labbed bravo's.

^^ Probably shaved too much cup for less bite and higher rpms. I finally gave up on screwing around with props, a couple mph at WOT was not worth my cruising performance or hole shot, not to mention blown $$. In reality some other boat would just blow me out of the water like I was going backwards so what did I actually gain?

I agree completely! I am going back to a stock prop and the goal is to get a much better cruising speed and hole shot. In reality, we almost never run at WOT and there is always someone faster. My plan is to test about 5-10 different props and pick which one works the best for my needs. I will keep the other two just in case I need spares.
