Question Best Hatch lift ??????

I am looking for a electric hatch lift. So far my favorite is the Gaffrig. Seems to be plenty strong BUT it is SO SLOW at only 14mm per Second. That is only about a half inch per second so it will take almost 48 seconds to open the hatch up. Seem slow to me. Bennet has one that I am guessing is faster but still waiting for the spec. The problem with the Bennet is that if the pump dies you will NOT be able to easily lift the hatch. The Gaffrig has a build in slider to allow for this. Does anyone know of a better solution for this?

I don't know about a fast ram type of lift but the fastest hatch opening I have seen was on a Howard with the Dana Marine Hydraulic hinges, the hatch came up so fast that when it stopped it looked like it was going to keep on going. They are pretty spendy as they use a hydraulic pump and a ram in each hinge.
Might be a little overkill.

Those will not work for me unfortunatly. I have exhaust in the way on the sides. So I have to go with a center post style at the front of the boat. I was hopeing to put something together like the Cigs have (use a standard Alpha trim ram) but that will not fit btwn the engines. I may even have to move the Power Steering over to the port engine to get it all to work.

Give Offshore Performance a call at 410.827.0200. Ask for John in service, who is Pwrbt 33 from OSO. He can spec the ones they use for Sonic. I have twin lifts on mine, and they are slow, but they have a dual sleeve, so if the batteries are dead, you can still just lift up the hatch, and the cylinders extent freely. Can't beat it. I think CheckmateF1 spec'd this from John early this year, and it was around $300 apiece, turnkey.
