Clearwater Beach FL.
Was throwing darts at a map last night looking for a fun place to spend a week or so in November. I've been to Fort Myers beach but never further north. Will be just the wife and I, not big partiers, just looking for somewhere warm and nice that won't break the bank. Any thoughts?

I live here and love it.
The beach is what you make of it here. It is beautiful but smaller, there is areas by the pier that are crowded or if you are ok with a little walk just head north of the 880 Pier/condos and it is secluded and quiet.
Any specific questions? thoughts?

The water quality and clarity is much Much better in Clearwater and almost no chance of Red tide.
The Stupid Water management keeps dumping that KRAP water from the Caloossa Hatchee river onto Fort Myers Beach creating Red Tide

Wife and I love Clearwater Beach. We go either in November or March. Definitely check out Dunedin for a day trip. Wife wants to move there in 3 years when we retire. We've stayed at both the Sand Pearl and lately Opal Sands. Really like Opal Sands. Pricey but we've always been able to work deals with them. Close to Shepard's which has live music on the beach, Jimmy's Crows Nest for a bar with a view, and has it's own tiki bar with food that has awesome sunsets. Plenty of other nice hotels in the area as well.

I started going to Clearwater in the late 60s before the developers knocked down all the mom and pop hotels it was the most chill place in fl. Still beautiful beaches but it’s become a police state. I lived there for 25 years before busting out to Costa Rica and now colombia
