some might be wondering how SpaceX is related to "boating stuff"

SpaceX put into orbit yesterday The Copernicus Sentinel-6A Michael Freilich ocean-monitoring satellite

What is this satellite used for? It measure ocean wave height more precisely, ocean weather and ocean currents for ship routes and offshore fishermen.

able to tell the weather a month in advance for ocean crossings of sailors

SpaceX Starlink began releasing its Satellite Internet dishes to folks in the northern countries. Starlink provides internet via satellite dishes where cable companies cannot reach. It's just a matter of time till these services are extended into our boats providing unlimited possibilities.

for $100 per month service cost, you can receive internet in the "boonies" with speeds of 115Mb download and 35 Mb upload, fast enough to do gaming and stream movies. Also because more companies have adopted work-from-home model, there will be big movement of people to areas away from big cities and still have connectivity to the internet where no land-line internet can reach.

noli thank you for the heads up on Starlink. I live in the boon docks and our internet speed is slow. My down load speed is 17 and upload is less then 1.36. I just signed up for their beta testing.

My wife has a app on her phone that will tell you were to look based on your location, when I talk with her today I'll ask what the name of it is.
