You shoulda seen it 50 years ago when my parents and my 7 siblings were weathered in there for a week of. December on a 36 Grand Banks
some of our home movies from that trip. Starts at 29:30 and end at 43:00.
Bimini was a slum but Fat Albert who ran the dock there was so nice and kept us in fish and lobster. He was the guy featured in the old Bertram ads.
The highlight of every day was going a dock over and feeding the dolphin Charlie Brown there’s a some vid of me feeding him and that’s also me rowing the Sportyack.
They originally rescued and penned Charlie Brown and than released him but he kept jumping back into the pen to be fed and perform .
RiGht at feeding time he would jump in the pen and perform than jump out when he had enough.

"According to the Bahamian Air Sea Rescue Association, the boat ran aground at a high rate of speed at approximately 12:25 a.m."
It seems like a disproportionate number of these accidents happen in the middle of the night.
A lot of these fatalities could be prevented with life vests, too. When you are injured, it is very difficult to keep your head above water.

Bimini is less than 50 miles from Florida. Clearly the guy was hammered but no evidence = shorter sentence. Bimini is a cool place but not a place you ever want to get hurt or need police assistance (both are not up to US standards). Turtle rock is sizeable and can be seen from the Sapona (or depending on the tide, the Sapona can be seen from Turtle Rock). If you run north/south keep the Sapona on your east side and turtle rock on your west side.
It wasn't clear where they were coming from but there is NOTHING out there after dark and they were miles south of Bimini.
