Stay safe in LA/TX tonight..........Laura is coming for you!
S. Florida has plenty of hurricanes so most people just expect them regularly and homes/businesses are prepared for them. I always feel bad when an area that rarely gets storms gets hit with a Cat 4! That storm is going to be a hard hit. Stay safe, hope for a quick pass through for you guys.

Good luck and all safety to those in the affected areas.
I can't figure out how the forecasters , despite knowing about the super warm gulf waters , didn't see this incredible intensifying 2 days ago when they were still talking about a marginal cat 2 making landfall.
Some rough days and weeks ahead , damn I hate a hurricane .

They're saying up to a 20' storm surge. 80% of the nations refining capability has already shut down in preparation for Laura. No telling how long it may last. Load up on fuel now!

We left Clear lake (Kemah) and are up north, house was prepped for a big hit but it looks like we will get missed.
Cameron La. is about to get wiped off the map... it’s going to be a long night out there

A couple of local forecasters here were warning of the possibility of a last minute increase in intensity.
We barely got a swell around here.
