Imho, the difference between the lakes and ocean swell is amplitude and duration.
The lakes have a short distance between swell peaks and the ocean much longer.
So given a 10 foot swell on a lake and 10 feet on the ocean, the lake is going to beat you up....
This may have something to do with water density.
Anyway I guess most of the replies are in jest.

Thanks for the info guys. I’ll probably keep the 24 for a bit and see how it goes. Tbh I think I’m a bit too attached to my boat to sell it lol. I don’t understand the Lake Mead references, I thought those big reservoir lakes out west were fairly calm?

Welcome to OSO.
Sell your Skater (cheaply) to me and buy something else. Anything else, it won't matter to me.
Lake Meade reference, had some clown banned on here recently under 3 different screen names, he was a stirrer, talking about running his 33' Scarab in waves up to 10' on Lake Meade.
RR
P.S. Agree with your last post, keep the Skater if you really like it and use it for a while, see how ya go. I'm sure you'd have no trouble selling a nice 24 in Florida if you change your mind.
Edit... Speicher Lane, quicker on the keyboard while I was typing!
