Default Prevent Insects Under Boat Cover?

Seems all sorts of small mosquito-looking insects love to colonize under full boat covers. Only to then get splattered all over the gelcoat and cockpit cover when the cover is rolled-off. Any recommended tricks to minimize/prevent this? Boat rests on a lift in the People's Republic of Florida.

You know, we do have those Terminator Bionic genetically-modified mosquitos and all... Thanks in advance.

You could move up here to Western NY. I haven't seen a bug in months.

That's cuz they are all dead, frozen on the ground, after your 2-weeks boating season ended! ;-)

Hey, In 2020 we had three weeks of boating! I hope someone has a solution to your bug problem. On my boat i get the spider **** on the deck. Seems they like it under the cover.

Yes spiders. I was told awhile back, to spray the outside edge of your cover with bug spray before we put them away for 50+ weeks!

I use mothballs and dryer sheets in the cabin and cockpit. Seems to work well other than the occasional commando gecko that gets in and leaves "traces". Maybe I should also put a mothballs bag on the bow and/or swim platform before the full boat cover... May try that.

Also try "Irish Spring" soap cut in half and placed several places in boat in cheap plastic storage containers, without lids.
