But you need to add the weight of the gimble and drive..

Plus... where you putting stern drives on this??

These motors aren't for the boats on this site for the most part.

No, that includes the gimbal and drive, but you're right, not much comparison. Just surprised how heavy it is.

So when are these O/B getting gear-case upgrades (factory or aftermarket) if they are a B drive derivative and they want to push more power over a NA application?

These outboards are getting to the size of just being an I/O with a cowling hanging off the back of the boat.

With lots of exotic parts that you can only get from one manufacturer...

I think this will be a huge hit for Mercury.
The big CC’s and cruisers are too expensive for the average guy, they are toys for the well healed people who won’t mind spending money on the latest and greatest. With 7 marine’s timely departure, Merc have stepped up with something new and as the largest outboard manufacturer, by a pretty big margin, who wouldn’t power their big outboard boat with new Mercury V12’s?

Some new technology, a decent warranty with a big dealer network, and buyers at this end of the market couldn’t care less about fuel economy.

Boldly?
As in someone paid me to write that?

Ugliest OB I’ve ever seen!

If that’s not enough, it’s 1260 lbs and $77K!

I must have missed something.
Ugh
