So when are these O/B getting gear-case upgrades (factory or aftermarket) if they are a B drive derivative and they want to push more power over a NA application?

These outboards are getting to the size of just being an I/O with a cowling hanging off the back of the boat.

I think this will be a huge hit for Mercury.
The big CC’s and cruisers are too expensive for the average guy, they are toys for the well healed people who won’t mind spending money on the latest and greatest. With 7 marine’s timely departure, Merc have stepped up with something new and as the largest outboard manufacturer, by a pretty big margin, who wouldn’t power their big outboard boat with new Mercury V12’s?
Some new technology, a decent warranty with a big dealer network, and buyers at this end of the market couldn’t care less about fuel economy.![Smilie](/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
