This new 600 isn't anything I'll ever be in the market for myself, but that said I'm glad Mercury has come out with it. Having a high HP gasoline burning engine coming out in a world where the Dems are pushing for everything going electric is a big win for all of us gear heads!

Think about it, on the west coast (where I live) they're moving towards no gasoline cars being allowed to sell in just a few years.

Most people will never afford the 59' Cig Tirranna (or the like) , for those that can this is a new power option that will appeal. For those that can't, it makes for an impressive package as a complete unit and in its individual pieces.

For those that don't like the look - how do you wrap up a v12 and keep it looking like the Merc redesign? As far as the top hatch/ toilet seat... lol, interesting take but I would rather lift a hatch to check on levels than fight with a whole cowl getting it on and off and not mark THEM up and lock them down.. just my take but to each their own

I agree with your thoughts. I made the toilet seat comment for fun, cannot imagine lifting a hood that size.

this appears to be more of a situation whereby mercury was already in the process of making a competitor to 7 marine and then 7 pulled out of the market as there was simply no market at these price points and weights. mercury seems to have been stuck out in the cold and someone wanted to cover their rear and went ahead and released these elephants. mercury cannot keep a prop alive on a 450 application nor a lower unit for that matter so this will merely exacerbate those areas of failure. pricing, weight and application seems to be a market best suited for a diesel application as this was Volvo original plan whey they took over 7 but someone realized that their previous employee had counted incorrectly.

Mercury can’t even get the bravo outdrive right...and they come out with this thing? Hahahaha

it will be a matter of time until the warranties start flying...these guys can’t design there way out of a paper bag.

“we spent months designing the labels on the toilet seat”. BAHAHAHA

It’s no oil painting but how do you disguise a 7.6 liter V12 monster? As a few have already stated, they’re not likely to be in that market anyway. I’d like to hear from someone who is in that high end CC or cruiser market, I think they’d be pretty excited about running fewer engines for the same performance. 😛

RR.

(Worst case scenario, 4 of them may look right at home on the Fountain kilo boat)
