Is the older 30 just the old spectra mold?

I could be wrong but I believe it is. Rey purchased the original Jay Pilini Spectre molds and began building boats utilizing today's modern build techniques like all composite, resin infusion. Optionally one can order his boats in Carbon/kevlar mix

Then Rey purchased the widebody boat from Todd D (which acted as the plug) and built a mold out of it called the 32 widebody w/ wrap windshield

When the mold was completed for the widebody, he took the plug and currently undergoing paint and rigging. That will be Rey's personal boat (see post #16)

It will be interesting to see how the new one runs.

So, If the 30 is a Jay Pilini boat.. and the 32 WB plug was a boat... What was the 32 plug boat??? Where did it come from?

From what I understand, It was a 30 spectre cut in half and they widened the tunnel (Making it a "widebody"). Then they added a foot or 2 in length and are calling it a 32.. Then they made a flat deck for it... Instead of that standard out dated deck..

It appears that the Hellkat is a well built boat in this video the boat appears to have handled a semi-stuff pretty well, the driver may have gotten a little wet, interesting video. I disagree with title of reckless, just a part of going fast

Although its a part of going fast. it is reckless to drive at those speeds on an inlet like haulover, where the waves are so unpredictable. ESPECIALLY a 30 foot cat.. If you're talking about a 52 MTI going at those speeds its more understandable... BUT a 30 ft boat can't be driven like that through a turbulent inlet on a rough day like that... He's lucky he didnt submarine the boat or even worse break it...

That was a textbook example of how you trip a cat and get them to submarine....few mph faster and.....
