Talking Need some info on this boat from the professionals.

Hey guys this is my first post, unfortunate I cannot post a picture.
but I'm looking at an older CIGARETTE racing boat, it has twin 350 carb engine twin alpha 1 drives,
how will I able able to tell this is an authentic boat? The CIGARETTE world racing team decals look almost painted on the side, would that be normal for a 70's-80's boats.
I think the boat is from the 70'80's but I couldn't be sure. I'm getting all my information from a second person who knows the owner. ill keep you updated as I get info.

someone once asked me why I never took pictures of the projects I have built. my answer was I never wanted to look back at the pictures and be reminded that I was stupid enough to take on the project.

First place to start is the HIN. If it starts in CRT it's a cig....

If you post a picture here the experts will tell you. Tons of institutional knowledge here, particularly in the cigarette brand....

Yes just waiting till I'm past the 10 post mark to be able to give pictures, I have about 10 or so photos. I have great confidence as soon as I post them someone will know exactly what it is.
ill try and secure the HIN and go from there! I do apricated the help tho, even on an older cig it will still start with CRT?

Thanks!

very similar yes! Except the decals on the one I’m looking at is about 5 inches off the transom. The engine hatch is completely flat no air scoops like that 28ss It also has little bucket seats not big stand up style looking seats. Also the chrome railing that runs from bow to windshield is much higher look like it’s almost a foot tall.
