Default Dual Control help?????

Hi, it's been a while, and back here again. Anyway I'm looking to put an offer in on a 1988 Slickcraft S2 268 Sc. I like the boat and for what I can see, they are well built. The one thing it is missing it the dual stick controls (separate F-n-r and throttle) like I have seen on some other boats I was looking , and owned that were 36ft cabin boats. I really liked my boat with he separate controls and teaching my wife to drive I would find it easier as well.

I'm looking for the style that came in that era of boat, like you see in Donzi Z25 with single engine? I know I can just order up a Livorsi or Hardin, but like something more era correct.

Looking for something like these from a '97 Donzi ZX25 but looks the same as the Z25 just can't get a good picture of them:

Thanks John

Sounds like you’re after Mercury ‘Zero Effort’ controls.
they made them for single engine, twins and triples. Black or white color. Shouldn’t be hard to find second hand. Check single engine boats been parted out, search “zero effort”, if no luck try a wanted add on here.
Crappy pic off Google.....

Good luck with the purchase.

you can check ebay for Zero Effort - usually there are shifters for single engine through tripps listed.. if not at the moment, give it a week or 3

There’s a few guys on here who regularly part out boats and may have those controls lying around. One member who comes to mind is ‘Sick Stinger’. Could be worth sending a message if you get the boat.

I'm in SW Ontario Canada, in Brantford.

Thanks for the replies. Just waiting to see what happens with our offer. We came in 15% below asking. Boat has been for sale since August of 2020. Broke said right up front that there sticking to there asking price. That price is $500.00 LESS then the survey value from 2016 for the 1988 Slickcraft 268 SC. The real issue for us is that it does NOT come with a trailer.

FYI if you can't find the Mercury branded zero effort controls, try looking for a Morse "MY" control. It looks the same. I think Morse made them for Mercury back in the day.

Heads up here, he doesn't specify if it's a single or twin. Assuming single by wording of ad. But if a single more than likely this boat will have exactly what you need.
