Dreamer, Have you ever been on a 400SS ? Yes you do have to lower the table to sleep on, but it is quite comfortable. It also has a much larger area in the back of the cabin to sleep a couple of full size people comfortably. The 400SS is substantially bigger than the 38 Sport Cruiser. If you have 5 people who are going to be staying on the boat overnight, the 400SS wins hands down.

The Fountain is a great boat and the stateroom is excellent. I was not trying to say anything bad about the 38 Sport Cruiser. It simply does not have the room of the 400 and DIESELBRI64 said there were three children in the family.

A local restaurant owner here in Atlanta has a 50 cary that is interested in possible trades particularly a partial trade toward a helicopter the pictures can be seen here

http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/4/4/53913044.htm

this is the broker listing it but for trade options contact him personally his name is Andy Camp and his number is 770 652 0334 and I am pretty sure he is extremely flexible on this price because he looking to move to purchase a helicopter immediately.

Look in Europe too. It will cost you 10 to 12K to transport it back, but the boats you're looking at are the bread and butter of European shipyards. The offer in this fast cruiser type of boat is actually larger than in the US which means that you can make some killer deals on the used market. Even with the transport cost, it's worth it. For the kind of money you're ready to spend, you can get a Sunseeker Superhawk 48 with triple I/0, transport it to the US and still have enough money left to put gas in it for the entire season. You can have it with triple Volvo 260hp diesels which is a very reliable and economical solution. It will run close to 50. You can also have it with triple 496s and this will be good for around 53 mph. The boats you'll see around Europe at best prices are 1999-2001 models and the prices will be around 180 000 euros or $210K. Those are nice boats, rarely with over 100 to 150 hours on the engines. If You step your budget up a little, you can have this same Superhawk but the 50' special edition which is slightly longer due to the extended rear platform which covers and supports Trimax surface drives. They are all stainless, no hydraulics in water... so you do not need a boat lift, leave those drives in water without any worries. This version has triple Yanmar 440hp diesels and this will be good for very close to 60 mph. It will cost about 350K not more than 2 or 3 years old. In addition, those boats are much more expensive in the US. This Sunseeker is likely to cost over 500K in the US, so you can really make a good deal by looking over in Europe. Sounds complicated but don't disregard the possibility. In addition, you will enjoy superior craftsmanship and finish. I've been on Formulas, Donzis... and they're all nice boats but there are still flaws in finish you will not find on a Sunseeker or a Baia. They are much more upmarket, luxury products. Bear also in mind that Europe has a pretty volatile economic situation and there are always people looking to sell fast. If you have the cash and are not looking to finance your purchase, you can really steal things over here. I am presently looking into a 1993 Sunseeker Camargue 55 which is a huge open cruiser with a beam of over 15'. Twin 760hp MTUs with 500 hours, three double cabins, two heads with separate shower cabins, salon, cockpit salon, tender garage under the sunpad... you name it. And over 40 mph. All this for under 250K. I do this for a living. I am a boat dealer but I buy the boats I list afterwards. If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you some examples of boats you can have within your budget. You'll be surprised...

tomtbone, that's a good idea actually. he should just buy a real express cruiser like yours where he does not have to worry about room or reliability at all and put a really fast, souped-up jet ski in the back, for when he wants to go fast and get scared a little.

Some of those suggestions are WAY above the 275k stated.

Super Tremoli your peaking my interest were are most of those listed Yachtworld?.

I captained a New Sunseeker in the 40ft range back in 1989 as an official's boat at a race once and loved how beautiful those rigs are.

Don't tell my wife cause it would be no more Cigarette's if she ever saw one of those boats.
