We have 2 rescues and Brittany volunteers for a rescue organization. A lot of rescue organizations are on www.petfinder.com It is nation wide and there are a lot of different search parameters.

If you're up for an active dog check out the Australian Cattle Dog. They're know to like water, small sized and shorter hair. They do need exercise !

Mutts are the best dogs. We have found both of these after being dumped out by our lake house.
The black dog we found back during the Ferguson riots- Named her Fergie lol. One of the smartest dogs we have ever had.
Other was just found couple weeks ago. Named Walley. quite the energy pack. There was a momma and 3 pups. We could only catch this one.
All Fuks that Dump dogs should be shot. People suck.

We have Schnauzers, don't shed, low maintenance and sporty as hell (at least ours are), my male "Teague" thinks he's a lab.

I've had several labs, all had the most outgoing personalities and loved the water. Wanting to get a smaller dog though this time. Was considering a springer spaniel.

Also, what's the go-to website to find puppies?

thanks.

My ex and I had two Mini-schnauzers. These two didn't like the water too much, but we could have groomed them better for it.
She had an in the ground pool, and we didn't want them just freely jumping in all the time.
But they did great on the boat. One made it to 14, and the other is still kicking at 16.

If you want a boat/water dog, short hair and no shedding is a MUST.

My Bull Terrier loves the boat but...isn't a good swimmer...all muscle, no fat so she sinks like a rock. Wears a jacket at all times whilst underway. But short hair, doesn't shed so...that is nice.
