Default OT: Truck Caps? Anyone have any conections?

Who makes the best truck caps? Leer, Century, Astro, ARE ? Any information would be great, Anyone have any conections on truck caps. Looking for a cap for a 2003 F-250 Super Crew (white). Anyone have a picture of a F-250 with a cap on it.

Thanks Kirk

i just bought a gaylord x2000 model ,it has a new design hindge but verry expensive, the cover fits good lookes real good ,real sleak, low profile, the hindge woorks good ,a local dealer said his cost wad 1348.00 plus friehgt. bought it thru autobahn 899.00 plus 100 freight. made damm sure wasent damaged before i signed freight ticket.my second choise was ARE but did not like the raised look or the hindge and the clamp system. are was 749.00 plus tax installed here.i saw a gaylord one on a ford dualy long bed at sbi neworeans ,talked to the owner he was not to happy with the fit of the gaylord was overhanging the tail gate might of needed ajusting forward?ck are web site shows pictures, and gay lordlids.com this site is sport truck sulitions not gaylord. one thing to consider buying local is fitting and warrenty.

KN,

Out of the ones you mentioned I would only consider two brands. The ARE is ugly as sin hands down. Some people actually like them, don't know why. The Century is crap.......I used to sell them in my store, I know. Leer, good product, higher priced, but worth it IMO. Astro, I have sold for two years out of my store with great success. They have been VERY good to stand behind any warranty problems.

Another brand I would consider would be Sportsman/Snug Top.

I would be more then happy to let you know what I price my tops at so you can compare. Hell, I'll even tell ya cost in case they're trying to screw you.

Oh yeah, I forgot. I agree with Rob. Buy local. It will be worth it if you have any warranty issues.
