couple things to consider, I have a flat hatch on my tiger and did 4.0s on it with no hatch mods. depending on the year of your 500s there isnt too much of a diff between the short blocks on them than the 525s or the 700s. i did afr heads, cam and tuning and am at 975. it might be easier physically and on the wallet to add whipple 3.8s to what you have, you already have cmi exhaust and a great serpentine set up... just food for thought.

Dean on here has whipped 500's in his 30 Spectra Cat. They pump out some power and you don't have the header issues. The only down side is no closed cooling.

I still find it odd why merc used a tall, narrower intercooler. Maybe just to be different from the standard whipple stuff.

PPower, thats perfect info, thank you for posting!

My clearance issue will be at the rear of charger, where air filter is, and the inner lip where my engine hatch sits, when closed. The motors in the 35TS sit up higher than a 38, so im pretty sure that will be a problem. Not a fan of cutting up my boat, just take make them fit. But if by chance it did clear, I like the 700's for the closed cooling and, they look cool too, and would be the only 700 powered playboy

The 700's in the classifieds, are what have me looking into this. I would sell off the headers, the NXT transmissions and spare charger, that come with sale. Along with my warmed up 500 EFI's, and would most likely be out less money, than putting whipples on mine and also having closed cooling. First thing is first, I need to measure first.
