True tunnels vs. center pods

Looking at a 28 ft. Profile Cat and wondered if I'd regret it at LOTO. Last boat I owned and ran there was a Skater. I'm right on the main channel so I know the waves and boats are only getting bigger each year. Not sure a center pod would do well but thought I'd ask those that might have first-hand experience. Thanks.

There's nothing like a true tunnel.
The 28 Profile is by far the best handling "podded" single engine cat Ive driven though, and we've got every major brand running around here. Its apples/oranges when compared with a real cat, but for what it is its a beast. Stable at 125mph as well.

A 50 foot Viking would let you drive thru the slop likes its not there! pretty darn comfy inside, or go up on the flybridge you can see the water lice and pontoons much better ! if the waves are big bring a wave crusher to the party

Wouldn’t recommend it. Our buddy brings a 27 Ultra down every year. They get real wet and have a rough ride.
Most the time they plan their day around traffic. Out early and work their way back so when it’s sloppy they don’t have to go far.
He’s not afraid to run it, but you can only do so much.

Thanks, everyone. You all pretty much confirmed what I had thought -- I held out a chance that maybe I was wrong but doesn't seem like it. Looks like I'll have to keep waiting and watching for a used 28' or 30' true tunnel to come up for sale in my price range. I'm hoping used prices will come back down a bit.
