You’re right, same standards apply as a bayliner. What was I thinking. Good to know because now I got plenty of breathing room with my 17yr old boat for “wear and tear”.

It’s funny because I just had this same convo with a broker I bought my boat from a few weeks ago. He’s down in Miami. I explained to him that people use boats differently down there. I feel like there’s some of us that these boats are huge purchases too. We care for them and look after them as such.

For others they could care less about the boat or the money. The use the boats like they’re a damn Civic.. and after a couple years they buy a new Civic. I think it boils down to a boating enthusiast owning a boat versus someone that bought a boat to just have one.

Bottom line whether it’s easy to swallow or not… that Mystic could have been a previous owners Bayliner.

I have often thought over the years of toiling over my boats to keep them as nice as can be, that I wish I was of the mindset not to sweat it so much, and that I might likely have more fun!

Not that being able to eat off the bottom of your bilge doesnt have its own rewards

Thanks captain obvious. Run my boat plenty. Imco SCX-4s are lasting about 3yrs behind 825hp when they’re rated to what, 1100hp? Plenty of docking and tie ups too and somehow the boat is still taken care of and looks great.

Nobody stops you from feeling good about that.

Evidently the owner of the Mystic was not as good at docking as you are. Or docked more often. Or in worse conditions.

In any case, if you buy the Mystic, fix what needs to be fixed, and take good care of it, the problem will be solved.

Ok got it. That’s what we should expect when purchasing a 400k boat. Just accept it and fix what the previous don’t give a fack owner did in a short time span. All clear now.

My point being with only 4 of these C4400s in existence (to my knowledge), it’s too bad this one was so neglected in a short time span.

Some buff and paint she`s as good as new.
Maybe it`s just an honest broker vs the other where you don`t find all that out till seen in person.

Different strokes I suppose. I agonized over making my 20y/o boat nice and pretty much didn’t get to use for a half a year or more.

Buying new every 2 years is a nice solution if you can afford it!

But if you’re buying used, the Michigan and lake boats sure stay nicer over the years.
