It's all over Facebook, seems from the reports they all stayed in the boat. Even though some are hurt simply amazing no one was killed. That had to be one pucker ride.
From the looks how far it went into the woods seems maybe the smaller trees slowed it down some before that final tree?
To Specter's point above, I remember 20+ years ago at the Indy drag strip a Fuel altered that snapped an axle or something and took a hard right at about the 60 foot mark. The biggest thing I remember was how hard it hit and how a bunch of stuff kept going,,,,,,, crazy looking.

It has been 5 or so years since I was at Tickfaw, but I can see how this could easily happen. Those rivers are very narrow and winding, lots of blind corners. If I remember correctly, there are some very low speed limits on the rivers. The boat that I took down there needed 40mph to stay on plane and I remember struggling between the speed limits and staying on plane. 35mph speed limits maybe? I am not suggesting that this driver was on one of the speed limited rivers, just that can easily happen there.

My guess is a lot of people are on FB or Instagram or some other Social Media site and not on boating sites. Personally I'm not on here much because 90% of the posts on here are from "Speed on the Water" and while they are informative it's not anywhere close to the old forum where boaters were doing the posting.

the 13 years and 9 poker runs as one of the tickfaw 200 organizers. it was all ways a fear of mine this would happen with two boats running side by side in the cruvs to fast. with a bad outcome.

Been on the Tickfaw many times, there are a few stretches that are "somewhat straight" after you past Prop Stop , heading South. , but running at high rate of speed you run out of straight river fast and into turns that are blind in my opinion. Prayers that all recover.
