It's all over the internet already. Driver was charged with a BWI with serious physical injury and high profile "offshore racer" Alex Pratt was one of the passengers. Luckily there were no fatalities, but a few of the passengers were seriously injured. Let's hope and pray for those that are in the hospital right now as the result of a bad decision that we've all made more than a few times in our lives.

A group of intoxicated people decided taking the boat in the middle of the night was better than calling an Uber, driver was obviously going over the 30mph nighttime speed limit, and they hit an innocent person's house.

I'm sorry for the home owner and I hope their house gets repaired quickly better than new.

LOTO can be very busy at night. It has a LOT of turns, bluffs, fingers and docks. If you are under the influence and do not know the lake, you should not be out there at night. I live on the lake, just off the channel. There are a lot of boaters out there and many are exceeding the nighttime 30MPH speed limit. There is even talk of a nighttime speed limit of no wake. Be careful if you dare the lake at night, have a lookout on your boat. Before the 30MPH night speed limit, we use to run at night hard and fast. I hate to say it, but this guy is going to be in trouble. State law will come down hard if these injuries turn worse.

Lets make this even easier.... If your drinking, don't drive the boat. PERIOD!

LOTO has numerous obstacles yet is unlike most lakes that we are heavily developed to the shore line and especially during the summer months has plenty of lighting on the shore line to keep you knowing where the main channel is. Yes it can be busy, we always ran with driver and spotter (Looking for other boats) If you use common sense and pay attention, night running can be very enjoyable! Unfortunately like any situation, those that are above common sense and put others at risk, ruin it for everyone else....

Spot on!
I do ALLOT of night time boating and really enjoy it. That said, a guy has to be on his game and head on a swivel. We use our radar every night and sometimes use a Bresser thermal monocular.

Another item that makes things more and more confusing at night is all of the "cool kids" with all colors of LED lights on their boat, or pontoons with headlights on! Blue lights mark docks, which is shoreline. A boat on a dark night with blue LEDs on can certainly add to spatial disorientation causing confusion to other boaters. If you think that LEDS are cool, show them off at the dock, but shut them down when pulling away. A few hundred dollars in lights does not make anybody cool.

I would dislike a no wake limit, but if it came to that, I would probably support it.

Some lake locals said that peninsula/house has had three accidents. I think after the first time I would have lit it up like an aircraft carrier at night. Especially in Summer.
