Was in news: guy had just bought it couple of weeks prior. Engine overheated and continued to overheat....

The new owner was on the Active Thunder FB page a couple weeks before the Shootout and said he had just brought the boat from NY to its new home at LOTO. Based on another pic he posted, it looks like he may have had it since June, though. He has not posted anything since the fire happened.

Normally, an engine overheating would not cause a boat to catch fire.

not sure about that..overheating engine usually all the rubber hoses start to melt and catch on fire. from there the hatch catches and it spreads quickly.
