Go for the bigger boat. (Which ever one it is) Don't settle for a smaller boat that runs 80. You can't add fiberglass later to make it bigger, but you can always add hp later.

#1 sounds like the only type of boat you've looked at seriously/tested. Sounds like you need to do the same with the others on your list first, and that will help you find your answer.

There's no replacement for displcement in cubic inches and hull displcement. I thought you said you wanted a boat for lake Erie(?)
And now you're talking about a 35'r. I just don't understand you people.

I met the owner while getting fuel this past summer over the shoot-out weekend at LOTO. He was a very nice guy, I can't believe he wants to sell it already... but if my memory serves me correctly I believe he was wanting to find a T/S...

thanks for all the input everybody.... but is still so confused... i really just need a T/S top gun for 130k
other factors influencing the purchase:
1) financing a 2002 vs. an older boat change the interest rate DRAMATICALLY, at least for my financing deal w/ my bank
2) same w/ insurance and big hp boats that do 100 mph
3) RESALE<RESALE<RESALE... i bought seans old boat because i knew i wasnt going to lose money and if i had to do a fire sale for some reason i know i could wholesale it for no more than an 5k loss at a moments notice!! that = 17% loss
now 17% on 130k=
so what ever i buy must be able to be 1) financed cheap ( low monthly payment) 2) low after purchase cost (ins., storage, maint) 3) not have to lose on resale or trade if i change my mind (regardless of what i buy, i change my mind like i change my underwear!)
keep em comin'
