I remember it being a single turbine powered plane.
And yes, wings had ice and plane was overloaded.
Report said 1200+ lbs!
Ground crew quizzed pilot who blew it off.
Liike all the island landing strips they end at the shore line.
So WFO straight towards the water then climb!
Report said they had a very shallow climb angle.
Plane was found 1.6 mls from airport.
Witnesses on ground heard it hit the ice.
