A very expensive "Labor of Love" could be alot worse, good thing I'm working free grata. Went from 4" exhaust holes to 5" to accommodate 4.5" through the transom tails. Resealed with vinyl-ester resin yesterday. Still lots to do but making progress. Why do we do this? It's an incurable disease...........................

Yup, been in a few i don’t know how anyone bigger than a newborn can get in certain spots.lol. I think it should have been a standard that all boats :wink should have the seat attached to the hatch like some boats have. Easy access. Such a dream to work on those.

I realize we can't just mount everything on top of the engine, but tell me again why the seawater pump has to be UNDER the engine....?

We had a somewhat unique Fountain and the front engine compartment bulkhead was removable. Most everything mounted to the blocks was accessible.

Closer to the water line the less the pump has to work, and least likely to get air in the system

Ever replaced impellers on a Baja 30’ Outlaw with 496HOs? I wouldn’t touch that job for less than $3K.

Does the back seat not come out? I did impellers on a boss 302 and it was a breeze with the back seat out.

Woops, my bad! That said, my point still stands. Many, many times it can be much more than just an impellor replacement. At a buck and a half an hour the ticker moves upward pretty quickly.
