Default First day out in the classic 32A Skater

After purchasing this a few months ago and having it brought out from Michigan, I was finally able to get out in it Saturday. It's a first for me in two ways - it's the first 32 Skater I've ever owned and the first triple engine boat I've ever owned. This is one of the last 32A models ever built being a model year 2000 and also has the original 2001 300X motors it was rigged with at Skater. Some of you may recognize the boat, as it was the picture boat for the 32A model on Skater's website for many years before they discontinued building the 32A in the early-mid 2000s. Skater did the tanks and added low water pickups for the previous owner (who also rebuilt the powerheads himself a hundred hours ago) and the boat is just about flawless. For a boat that is all original, it's hard to believe it's almost 25 years old! It should be a really fun boat to run around my home waters of the Delta in now that I sent my 36 back east to LOTO to hit a bunch of poker runs back in the Midwest every year. We'll be starting out this season at Boyne Thunder with it in just a few weeks. I'm pretty stoked to be back to my roots with old school 2-stroke outboards - my first 28 back in 2001 had 2.5/280s then 3.0/300s after I blew up a few of the 2.5s and rerigged it with the 3.0s. Hearing these triple X motors singing at 7,000rpm is pretty cool!

Gorgeous!

Love the boat and IMO, the 300X’s were probably the best ever, Hi Perf 2 stroke OB’s.

A buddy had a similar history with blowing up 2.4’s then 2.5’s on his Mirage before handing a Merc dealer his charge card for a new 300X.

I remember him telling me the computer showed 1600 gls of gas burned w/o being touched!

And ran high one teens!

And Skaters at the same level for cats!

Congrats sir and enjoy!

PS, how fast?

110-ish?

Gorgeous 32!

The trip Skaters run like a scared demon but the center engine mid and gear case do take the brunt of abuse.

Congrats on a great boat.
