Is 20k alot to lose on a new boat?
Considering I used it for 3 1/2 summers? The factorywarranteed everything the whole time and all I did was maintenance. Paid around 115k and sold for about 95k. Some guys put 10k into their boats a yr. for repairs and upgrades. YES OR NO?

20k loss on a new boat? As soon as it leaves the door.
Looks like we have the same loss per usage.
Right now I have my boat listed at 13K under my purchase price. Not taking into account the 6K spent during owning it. And this was on my '94 boat, I bought used in '99 and have used also for 3 1/2 yrs.

I do not consider 3.5 seasons a new boat.
Did it look like new--I'm sure it did but it is still 3.5 yrs old.
Mine is seven but looks only like two but I can't ask tall money due to actual age. Same is true with cars, motorcycles etc.
The hard part is finding somebody to fall in love with it and pay for it too!!!

The boat looked as good as the day it was delivered to me. I put 240hrs. on it. I also had it listed 15-20k cheaper than any other one on trader to sell it fast. Anybody ever buy a new boat and came out any better after a few years?

maybe cause I'm not a millionaire, just upper middle-c, I'd never buy a new boat - not that I would'nt like to be able to. I bought my 1996 302 for 50K with 200 hours on it.... down from the 65K asking. New - that boat is easily 125,000.00 plus - sheesh do the math.
