It is about time that Bush took a stand on the side of the boaters. After all we also are "VOTERS"!!! This thing has got out of control and if the Save The Manatee Club continues to get their way boters will become extinct in Florida.

Jeff,
That coupled with the fact that their natural migratory habits are completely corrupted by warm weter discharge. [Which btw, this fact somehow eludes the manatee proponents and are allowed to "Alter" their habitat.]

Is there any historical proof that there were ever more manatees in these waters than there are now? I doubt they ever ran in herds like buffalo. In my 30+ years of boating here in the Tampa Bay area, I've seen lots of manatees, and only once have I ever seen a dead one. That was this Labor Day, the sheriffs were dragging it to the boat dock. I thought at first they were coming after me.

I hope it goes well for you guys down there. I think the pro manatee people would probably like to see no boats at all. I can't imagine the pro manatee agenda being carried forward down there. As Bush said; it would be too disasterous on the economy. I guess the pro manatee people just expect the human race to step aside in favor of an animal. I don't believe in being cruel to animals either, but when it comes man vs. animal, man comes first. That's the way God has designed it and He has said it as so.
