I wonder if the sales guy on the floor messed up puting it together Seriously however looking at that I can not see how it can sound good due to sound physics but he maybe they know something I do not, it would not be that hard I can not see who the add is for, do you know? I can probaly find out, now I am interested

It's from Sound advice. I'll go down to the local store in an hour or so and ask them.. I'll let you know what they say.

They are not BOSE though... haha... what the arrow is pointing to is the tweeter. It is a fill speaker not a main. I forgot who makes them, It is a new line Sound Advice just picked up. SA does not sell crap, they are a mid to high end medium size retailer in the florida market. (just got bought out by tweeter BTW)... Oh I USED to work there... found out i cant sell by commision only.. im not that pushy!
The residual bennifits are awsome though... people i worked with are still there, so i get a killer disount on stuff... I bought an entire home theater system there B&W speakers with yamaha reciever, velodyne SPL1200... etc..

Here is the brief skinny on that "Thingy".
-The manufacture is Mirage
-The thing on top is the tweeter
-The speaker it faces is for mid range frequencies
-The theory is: As explained by a Young Brad Pitt looking lad:
_ The tweeter radiates down as the midrange radiates up.
- They meet and the dispersion provides a truer frequency response...
- There is a housing/grill cloth that fits over the top of the entire unit.
- The size is about 12x12x18 (eye balled)and the cost of each is $299 (a slight price break if you buy 4-6).
Mirage makes other speaker housings using the same concept.
Any similarity to this being a technical discussion is purely coincidental.
While in the TV/sound room they played the scene where Rene Russo was watching the Bond guy playing with his catamarran sail boat (Thomas Crown Affair). It was on a about a 6 foot screen and was awesom. both in sound and visually.
