Captain Bill Novitch
Does anyone remember good old Capt Bill? He used to publish that great offshore racing rag "The racer's edge", and always held court at the "tree bar" at Rick's in KW during the Worlds.
Whatever happened to him?

Yes I remember Capt'n Bill and Diane was his wife.
And no Mr. Rickey had "Vapor Trails" and he is/was on the West coast.
Bill was a funny ole man and his wife was a hoot. Checker flag everything... Shoes, sox, hair things, shirts, bras, swim suits, you name it...
Rick Turmel, you gotta remember him...

I remember them both well. They really had their plate full with trying to cover everything from Offshore to Formula One Tunnel Boats. I believe the lack of ad sales or payments of the ads may have taken them down & out... Sorry to see such a good crew leave the Offshore seen...

Yea, I really enjoyed hanging out with them. Bill had more stories, and Diane, well you just had to know her. You're right they both were great for the sport. Very upbeat and thrilled to be there at every race. Why did they get out? If nothing else they could write for Powerboat or Hotboat, they were very well informed with all what was going on in the sport. Anyway if you seen them, tell them I said hi.

Capt. Bill and Diane were very nice people indeed. Too bad they weren't able to stay with it. I always enjoyed their publication. That guy they had write that column for them, he always talked about prop direction, ALL THE TIME, now was it in or out?
