Citgo station next to my house is 1.64 for REG. and 1.86 for PREM..
Last Fri. I tanked up at BJ's Wholesale, paid 1.579 (everyone else was 1.629), pumped 21.531 gal. costing 34.00.
I can't imagine paying 2.40.

Story 6077 DJ US Retail Gasoline -3: Record East Coast Prices
The national average retail gasoline price is up 54.4 cents from a year
earlier.
Publication of EIA's weekly price survey, based on 900 retail outlets, was
delayed by two days from Monday due to the Presidents Day holiday and the
blizzard that closed government offices in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.
Prices climbed in all regions, with the West Coast registering the largest
gain, of more than 10 cents.
The East Coast price of $1.63 is the highest recorded by EIA since it began
tracking weekly prices for the region in May 1992, and is up 3.3 cents from a
week earlier. The East Coast price is up 53.6 cents from a year earlier.
The New England price was up 4.5 cents to $1.679, the highest since June 25,
2001, and up 52.4 cents from a year earlier.
In the central Atlantic region, gasoline gained 2.9 cents to $1.656, the
highest since June 18, 2001, and up 52.6 cents from a year earlier.
Lower Atlantic gasoline prices were the highest recorded by EIA since it
began tracking the region's prices in April 1993. The price was up 3.2 cents
at $1.595, up 54.6 cents from a year earlier.
Midwest prices were at their highest level since early September 2001, at
$1.665, up 5.9 cents, and were 56.8 cents above the year-earlier level.
Gulf Coast prices gained 2.5 cents to $1.581, the highest level since May
14, 2001, and were up 52.3 cents from a year earlier.
Rocky Mountains prices gained 5.9 cents to $1.618, the highest price since
June 18, 2001, and up 51.7 cents from a year earlier.
West Coast prices gained 10.7 cents to $1.786, the highest price since June
25, 2001. The single-week price rise was the biggest since April 5, 1999, when
the region was wracked by refinery operating problems. The price is up 54.2
cents from a year earlier.

tracking weekly prices for the region in May 1992, and is up 3.3 cents from a

a year ago.
