496 with 595 hp, WOW!
News flash. Tyler Crockett Marine engines is putting the final touches on a bolt on naturally asperated package that produces 595 hp @ 5100 rpm with 659 ft/lbs of torque @ 4300 rpm! This is incredible prop twisting power out of a motor without a supercharger. I just got a look at the dyno sheet on the test motor today. I spoke to Tyler at the Miami boat show and he said he should have pricing available shortly. He also added that he is working on a new cam that will push it over 600! This is going to breath new life into a lot of semi-docile boats. Stay tuned...

P.S. Jan did speak to the owner of PQ before we left. Hopefully all will be worked out.

Crockett...
I actually talked to tyler a while back, had a coupler being replaced under warranty and like all good boaters, figured since the motor is out, on someone elses dime I might as well....
I hope to be able to work with this guy some day, he was
very imformative and helpful. Didn't make you feel like he was
too busy to talk to you and answers his own phone.
It was just cost prohibitive, I was looking at close to 10 grand
for about 550+ hp. The computor needs to be replaced since whipple has the rights to reprogram and the exhaust is a big
expense. Wish I knew this silent choice I paid for would be going in the trash with aftermarket exhaust. Pricing should go down with volume. Where did you guys get this info? I believe he said
he would put some info in the mag. John

I got the info straight from the horses mouth. He e-mailed the dyno sheet to me. This is a project he has been working on for months. Tyler is a straight shooter who backs his work. That is pretty rare these days. I have been running a couple of 600's he built for two years now. They run great and he will come down and dial them in for you if you need him. Once he is finished he will advertise the daylights out of it. Look for it to show up in Hot Boat 1st. For more info give him a call, 810-324-2720.

I hope you had a typo on that figure of $10,000 for this upgrade to 550+hp. If that is true, heck you can have a whole engine built for less than that! Even half that price seems like alot for an 'upgrade' to a n/a engine for port work, cam, computer work.

CURT- good to hear from you. Had a GREAT time in Miami again and it was good to meet you and Jan. Glad to hear that PQ and Jack Moll took care of Jan. I'm going to be at the factory next week so let me know if there is anything I should check out.
