Been there done that my friend. I was in the ER three times within a week and all jacked up on morphine before they finally decided to admit me and think I might need lithotripsy. Once they got in there they discovered I had a tremendous amount of scar tissue from a childhood disease. They had to remove the stone whole. It was about the size of a 3/4 caret jewel. And then there is the stint. Cuda described it to a T. And the Dr. missed mine the first time too. OUCH! That was about 8 years ago and I have not had another stone since.
Word of advise, if you do have a stint...be near a bathroom at all times. With your bladder wide open like that there is no time to "hold it". All I can say it when you think you need to go....GO! Run like hell or there will be an accident.
Best of luck to you Mike and a speedy recovery!

Good Luck Mike!
I go for my follow up on May 12th.
Cuda, What did you do to piss-off the DR??? You were awake for all that?
I had a Stint put in, the removed the 9mm stone afterwards, and removed the stint 3 weeks later. Never was I awake for any of it... Perhaps different Insurance coverage...
Everything went fine. I was fine the next day after the Stint removal.
It was the cathetor that was the killer! When she pulled that thing out...Ohh!!!! It was worse than a kick in the nuts.
