I am lucky, but this came with major sacrifices.
We somehow managed to keep all of our toys.
I walked away from eight years senoirity with a job that had tremendous benefits and pay. The pay is much less down here. We made a decision together to take a chance on happiness, because it sure as hell isn't located in Columbus, Ohio!!!
Life is short fellas.

I am looking for 93 octane gas, at a fuel dock in the Ft Myers area that I can get a 37 ft boat into by water. I am coming from North Charlotte Harbor, several options would be great!

Yes, from my 1998 37 OuterLimits, which is presently for sale. I have a 2003 36 Skater SSM#6 in rigging.

Wow,
Thanks for all the support.
I bought a chart today at West Marine and talked to some local anglers/charter owners about navigating the area. Learned some good info.
I would love to check out the Nor-Tech facility. That goes on the list of must-do's now. Thanks!
groove-
I worked for SBC/Ameritech all that time. I did everything from climbing poles and hanging cable, to splicing it, locating it, to working in an office behind a desk downtown. Designing jobs for the contractors and construction crews that I once worked on. Of course, all within an allotted budget. I basically worked my way up the old fashion way.
This past January it looked as if I was losing my job due to job cuts, etc. So my wife and I sat down and decided to make an oppurtunity out of the situation. We decided for her to put a transfer in with her company to anywhere in Florida. Three weeks pass by, I don't lose my job and my wife gets a transfer to Fort Myers.
I said the hell with it and retired.
Here I sit in sunny southwest Florida.
I don't think I will pursue anything with the local phone company unless I absolutely have to.
I am signing up for real estate school to get my realtor's license. I know the market is flooded with them, but I am ambitious and confident that I can out-work, outrun, and out-service enough people to make a living at it sooner or later.
Just an idea. There are a couple of things I would like to try.
Right now, it looks like part-time realtor, part-time anything else.
My wife has a good job and covers me on benefits. That is where I am most lucky...
Anyhow, sorry for the book.
Moral of story.....We are on earth for a blink of the eye. Make the best of your limited time.
Alum Creek guys-
I don't know about making it to the shootout. My blood should be thinned out by then. 40 degree temps on the water would be enough to send me into some sort of hypothermic coma that only a white sandy beach and a cold margarita could bring me out of.
Velocity Tom-
Thanks for the help, I'll be in touch if the weather holds!
