Boat finance
Dennis,
Why not give Mr Reggie a call since he is the man behind the boat that you have and also the one you want..Im sure that there are a lot of people less qualified than your self running high dollars boats. He may just have the answer, seemed like a hell of a nice guy when I met him..
I myself have my Eliminator thru Wells Fargo Bank on a twenty year loan. Both of the Howard boats, cat and the V=bottom I bought in California and they were thru Bank of America..(twenty also)
Why not give Rich Obren a call, he is a senior Loan officer, he should be able to advise, or at least give you answers to your questions..
Remember its a second home. I will be home working on mine if you need anything call or come by..

Do a search on OSO for keybank. There have been a few issues. I'm not going to test my memory and say what they were. I might get it wrong. Do a search.

Here you go. I cut and paste from a post I made here several months ago. My most recent....AND LAST....encounter with Keybank.
These are THE FACTS with a very long story made short;
Had a loan financed with them for 9 years. Perfect payment history.
Sold my boat in November 2001. Mid November I called Keybank and asked for proper procedure to pay-off my loan and get title transferred to new owner.
1. Was given direction by them on an acceptable form of payoff payment. Was told a personal check would be fine. Did that. Uncashed check returned "unacceptable form of payment" 4 weeks later (period during which several calls by me to their payoff department trying to figure out why the check hadn't gone through....they were clueless, and told me to wait).
2. Called and was told information I was provided was not correct (no personal checks allowed) -- and to send them a different form of payment -- a Cashier's Check. Did that. Cashier's check returned "unacceptable form of payment" nearly 4 weeks later (same back/forth with payoff department who remained....clueless about the status of my payoff).
3. Called again. Told that previous two customer service reps had provided me incorrect information. Send money order. Did that. That worked.
This entire process took almost 4 months (with, of course, an additional 3 months of auto-debit boat payments made by me...and 3 months additional interest accrued as a result. Remember....all this AFTER I had sold the boat and turned over possession to the new owner)
When I called to complain about the run-around and misdirection by their payoff people -- and ask for a credit back on the interest due to their neglegence -- I was told to make a written request, and that it would be considered in "committee".
I wrote a polite letter explaining the situation. A FORM-LETTER back to me one month later.....Request rejected. No explanation or acknowledgement of my situation.
During all of this -- was in process of building a brand new boat, and already had pre-approved loan from Keybank all lined-up. New loan amount apx. 6x larger than my previous loan.
Without a moment's hesitation, I cancelled the Keybank pre-approved financing.
My dealer lined me up with Firstar in one day -- at a better rate.

Key Bank = VERY STUPID PEOPLE, Thank God that I payed off the loan. Never met such dumb people in my life.

My loan is through KeyBank...I have no complaints with anything so far regarding the loan itself, the loan was easy to get, quick response, no hassle and a pretty descent rate at the time......However, every time I have to call for something, say, my interest statement for instance, it's a nightmare....99% of the people they hire are about dumb as chit!
The only intelligent ones are in the new loans department...once they have your business, it's all downhill from there.

Yup, that was the disconnect. 9 years of no issues (of course, I was on an auto-debit system and didn't have to think twice about payments).
Their customer service function is broken (poor... if any training).

I use Marine Banking Services out of Chicago. Will do all the paper work by mail. I worked with Dennis Spoljaric. Their phone number is (708) 489-0588. He uses several different National banks and has very competitive rates.

I spoke to Dennis just this morning.
I had financed my Fountain through
his outfit a few years ago.
He's a good person to do business with.
I should have went to him FIRST.
