The deals are out there for the Ford's. I bought a 1999 F350 crew cab Lariat for 17K and this was two years ago. It had 90K miles on it when I bought it but now has close to 130K and have had zero issues with it. First Ford I have ever owned and I love this truck. Look for used ones in Texas, they seem to go alot cheaper out there which is where I found mine.

Steve, send a PM to 'skater' here on OSO, Mark House. He owns Outlaw Motorsports, and is selling his Red/Black Dually hauler; year 95 maybe? It has all the goodies, AND a brand spanking new transmission.

Yeah, 12 years in the car business and now I want to buy a used truck after I quit!! Oh well, patience is a virtue...
Any opinions on holding out for a newer body style for a deal like olemissalum got, or get a 1995-1997 as planned? What's the real difference between the two?

I have a 96 powerstroke with 165k on it the only problem I had was 5k miles ago the trans went out but that was kinda my fault. Other than that it's been a great truck, my boat and trailer weigh about 10k and it pulls them great. Don't go older than 95, they'll say turbo diesel instead of powerstroke on the side, I doubt you'd be happy with that motor. In 99 they added the intercooler pre 99 didn't have one, it added more power it just depends how much you want to spend.
