Wow, what a project boat sounds like a blast, a step hull 38 with 1"shorter imco sc's and 850 real HP should run 106-109mph, maybe a little faster after some dialing in, good luck, I need to make it over and check you guys out some time soon, you are not far from Beaumont TX.

Well your doing it with a good platform "Fountain" the drive might be suspect, keep in mind what Fever Mike said about the buckets...

Took the boat out yesterday for the first time. Smoked an impeller, than the batteries died, than I lost a gimbal bearing and a drive coupler. I can't figure out why, the salesman assured me that the entire boat had just been inspected. Now, I will disassemble the entire boat and start over.

I know the routine, I just would hope that when someone says Just serviced, they would actually mean it. I hate stock power. I can't wait to pull out the stock 500's and put in my own engines.
