Yep T2x, you're exactly right. As I said they have been making sailing boats for a while before heading in the right direction. This bow design that you see is their trademark and it looks very much like the America's Cup sailing boats. No photoshop though. They may have been retouched but the thing is running for real and it will accelerate faster than your average Cigarette or Fountain. As for Gentry Eagle, yes it was a pretty boat with smooth lines. Two 3480hp MTUs plus a "small" Textron Lycoming turbine producing 4600hp. It has been converted into a luxury yacht and it looks sweet. I guess you will prefer this then. An 80' with four MTU diesels producing a total of 6000hp for a top speed of over 75 mph. The catch is that this boat actually has a transatlantic range as it has a 12 000 gallon fuel capacity. Even full, it will get on plane and run 50 mph. Plus it looks good. A Fabio Buzzi design. Enjoy

Wally build some very serious sailing yachts, and they look flawless up close, so I'm sure the workmanship on this boat is second to none.
Super minimalist...
Question: If the side vents allow air in to let the turbines breathe and cool, how do you keep water from getting in also?

actually, the finish is not perfect on that boat, it being the very first they made. that is one of the main objections everybody had upon visiting this boat. but the boat is supposed to go back to the yard after the boat show season so i am sure all that will be fixed. as far as the vents are concerned, that is a good question. normally, a system of a barrier followed by a water collection and runoff plate will do but the size of this thing makes it a little more complicated than that. oh yes, the super minimalist interior on all wally products is quite something. you love it or you hate it. whatever your take is on it, the design value is there. done by lazzarini and pickering design.

I love the minimalist look of the Wally's...
The lines and aesthetic are second to none..
Who builds that Fabio Buzzi design ?
I know nothing about turbine use, but always assumed that the natural enemy of turbines is corrosion?
How are they affected by being around salt water?
