I have watched those crab fisherman and the **** they go through netting crabs!...They make 50K per short season but damn, they say if you fall overboard, you are as good as dead because by the time the boat swings around to get you, you are hypo'd and drown.

Great pics Trout..

I was without Internet last night because of the wind. I saw the Crab Fishermen one also. They can earn 100gs in a few months...if they survive. Last Oct a buddy and I went out in 13-15 footers on Jet Skis with helmets and dry suits. It was a blast but scary at the shore break and going in the channel. I race sailboats with my Dad and we have been in 18 foot waves in a race and watched the boat next to us loose it's mast. We had to come about and help them because they did not have bolt cutters to clear the rigging off the deck. $60,000 worth of mast, sail and rigging at the bottom. You at least need a hack saw if you are racing for keeps. We lost a mast on a 30 ft sailboat and it was a mess, we replaced it with the mast from a 35 ft boat. Thats like replacing your 454 with a 540. It hurt our rating but we were still fast.

They call that tow in's. Laird Hamilton is the tops in the world. I think that Wiamia (sp) bay in Hawaii and a place in Austrailia are the largest waves that you can actually paddle into.

Columbia River Oragon can get some HUGE standing waves as the wind goes in one direction and the water goes in the other and those pictures that Troutly put up are at the end were the coast guard trains their drivers.

I saw that training on Modern Marvels. It was awesome to see them crash thru the waves. I have a wood model of the new 47 on my Mantle. The best picture ever was the 44 on it's side under a wave just after a barrel roll. The clear water showed the boat like glass under the water. Any one have that pic? I saw it on a poster once.

I am heading to Grand Marais this weekend to scare hunters with my snowmobile. Not really, I leave the woods to them for a few weeks.

Keep the winter storm pics coming. Living in Texas there cool to look at. I have never seen serious snow other than just a few flakes.
