Thanx for the info, I'll certainly take you up on it. I'm a bit jaded from owning a waterfront home with a boat lift. What's better high 'n dry or is there good waterfront home with deep water for a boat?

Shooter,
Let me know what kind of a decision you make or lean towards as to where you think that you may end up. I am also in the tech field but more on the sales side. I have been thinking of a move to Florida as well but want to make sure that I have the opportunity to do as well or better than I have in Texas.

I moved here to Ft Myers 2 years ago this month and you couldnt get me out of here with a truck full of dynomite. I bought a house with a lift and a dock, and its doubled in value in 2 yrs. Its more laid back then the areas further north, but thats the way I like it. 2 hrs drive and I'm in Lauderdale or Tampa. Wont be this way for long I'm afraid, since we are being "discovered". More hi tech stuff in Tampa or Miami, but then you have the traffic, crime etc to deal with. Nothing's ever perfect. Good luck on your search.

Tampa 9, Miami 23. Lauderdale, and West Palm didnt even make the list. Fort Myers, and naples are still nice areas on the West Coast, just not sure about Jobs.
