SY You have me laughing my azz off here! But that about sums it up .

My ex bought me a wall plaque " To experience owning a boat stand in a cold shower and tear up $100 dollar bills" That is a close one also.

After careful consideration of all the costs...better figure it's probably low because you certainly missed something or under estimated something else , or worse , both
We're all crazy on here

Good luck

Thanks
I'll try to answer your question.

I assume your are in some type of fresh water lake since you have a "wet slip". Bottom painted boats are cheaper and probably preferable to you.

Stick with a cheaper single to learn. If you don't like the boating lifestyle your loss will minimal. If you get bit then upgrade.

Insurance can range between $250-$5000/year depending on speed and your experience. Stay under 60mph and you will probably be around the $250 mark.

Local storage is locally priced.

TAKE A SAFE BOATING COURSE! Cheaper insurance and you learn the rules of the road.

(spell check not working sorry)

Jayhawk - I saw a survey once that said the average annual cost was 15-25% or the purchase price per year. Unfortunately that seems to be just a little low from my experience.
