I think Ford trucks, Super Duty's anyway, are way under rated, I'm sure for liability reasons. One key is having the right towing equipment.

My dually pulls the 47 at 70 - 80 mph comfortably. No side to side swaying at all. my Dodge wouldn't pull the 357 at 70 unless it was downhill. I really like the ford much better. The 47 is 13500 lbs and the 357 is 10800 lbs. I was thinking of putting the 4" blocks on mine like Troutly said it is a little low when loaded down. MFB

Don't do blocks, use air bags. These are the single best thing you can add for towing. When you arn't using them you deflate them and are back your stock height and ride.

I've had Dodges, Fords and GM's, had the best luck with GM's as far as durability and repairs. Bought an 03 F250 extended cab with the 6.0 in August and I abslolutely love it. With out a doubt the best truck I've ever been in. I haul a lot of big boats around, I can take off from a red light with a 35 footer and beat out just about anyone next to me. Gets around 16 mpg with 5000 miles on it so far. No problems yet, starts good and runs great.

I've got an late April production 03
Excursion 6.0. 2W.D. 5700 miles and no problems yet. Mine was just built after a change of injectors was made and I understand many more changes did go in
after late September production.
I get around 17-18 mpg in the city and
19-20 on the highway. 77mph normally on the highway and have gotten up to 22mpg 65 to 70 mph. The computer always says about 1 more mpg than my calculation and I figure it holds a bit more than 44 gallons including the filler tube.
