True legends to me:Page/Plant, Stevie Ray Vaughn,Beatles(not into them personally but still legends to me). I know there are many more that I am forgetting about...

Jane's Addiction is a seminal band meaning that many newer bands are inspired by them. People in the rock world really look up to him and he commands a great deal of respect in those circles. And Cuda, go ask 10 real rock fans who Dave Navarro is and I am sure all of them will tell you. He's a rock legend in the same way as guys from Alice in Chains for example. Just because you guys can't name them does not mean that they were not at the forefront of grunge rock movement. Same with Soundgarden, guys like Chris Cornell are rock legends even though you may not know them. I guess it depends on the generation and on how much you're really into your music...

Please define "real rock fan". Apparently by your definition, anyone who hasn't heard of Mr Potato Head isn't a rock fan.

A true rock legend would be someone who anybody with a passing interest in rock would't say "Who?".

I think what you are describing is better defined as "cult heo".

If you want to put him on your shelf with "legends", feel free to do so, but to me, he's just Mr Potato head married to a skank.
