Any kind of trucking you should be able to charge at least $1buck per mile. I would charge him at least $1200. minimum. If he's *****ing about $1000. tell him the price just went up to $1200.

Thanks all, that pretty much tells me what I thought. I'll pass this on to him.
Don't really care if I do it or not. Just thought I'd take a short weekend, do some traveling, and get paid for it.

$1.40 loaded mile if they only wanted it one way
if I was able to get a load second load for the empty direction I charged both 1.15 loaded.
I did this to pay for my time while I travled. It allowed me vacations between my scheduled work days. and yes this was for friends or family.
but wear and tear on a vehicle, especialy in the winter months and HI temp summer months are brutal on towing.
let him pay commercially everyone has to learn sometime in life what and when a deal is a deal :0

Just had my boat brough back from Fort Lauderdale. A semi company had an empty load coming back from there to IA, 1200 miles??, said the deal price since he was gonna come home without a load was $1500. Your price seems cheap to me Buck.

My dad does specialty cars transfers, classics, high lines, etc. He lives in houston and your buddy is welcome to call him for an insured, bonded, profesional bid, but if he does hes gonna owe you a big apolagy.

Keep in mind insurance as well, if for some reason something happens to the cargo, it could be costly.
plus the damage to your own vehicle.
