I'm a little confused. So you bought the boat? I'll assume so if you're going to start doing mods to the motors.
BTW, I seriously doubt you'll gain 10 mph by just doing those changes. I think you'll really need to crank the boost up for that much of a gain... IMHO.

40 outlaw
spoke with teague and arizona speed. they told me the chillers add 150hp, it reduces boost, so they will supply me with new msd, pulley, and rechipped ecu and it will run 6 pounds of boost.. also thinking of boxes and blueprinting hull. all of them agree 90 is probable.

Boxes without doin shorter lowers will just slow you down.
Might be a good idea to upgrade the head gaskets.
Sounds like a nice boat...post us some pics if you can.

I have to agree with High-Tide this is not your average BAJA. Maybe "wiggler4490" can provide additional details of this boat.
Sound like a hell of a boat much like High-tides

Are you shure they didn't
"sneak in" the 3rd engine and drive ?
I've seen 40's with trip. 500's run about
that ( low 80's)
As High Tide has said, 74 is about the norm
stock.
What size props, and what rpm's were
they turning ?
The dealer I bought my boat from
had a 40 with 575's / chillers, turned
up boost, no boxes, he claimed it ran
around 80, and this claim was from a boat
salesman
Sounds like a hell of a boat.
I'm going down to LOTO later today, for
the weekend, will you be still down?
I'd kill for a ride, I havent been on a
boat since October, I need a "fix"

this boat was tested and gps's by powerboat in 2002. I saw the article and I talked to the actual driver on the run. as the article states the boat ran 80.1 a fact. I also talked to the marina in michigan about the weight, and in fact it was just a little over 8800. boat has no equip. gas nothing with comp cabin. radar used at lake was stalker, I also spoke with another guy who has twin 575's and he runs 76 with regular cabin. the hull was blueprinted, but I dont know how much that adds. and it has labbed 4 blade bravo props. boat rpm's were around 5200 . Called baja and they said with regular cabin with regular layup on 40 is 9300lbs. so that sounds about right.I will say everyone has told me to put chillers on the motors and it will gain 6 to 7 mph with 6lbs boost I know baja made the boat for top speed poker runs.
