OT: discounted furniture NC
Is it worth driving with a 36' enclosed trailer to NC to hunt furniture or are there just as good a deal out there for those in the know?
I need some Thomasville, American Drew, and Drexel Heritage stuff. They have it priced nuts around here.

I was looking into it several years ago. It's yes and no. When you purchase it down there you will have to pay sales tax. Along with the cost of fuel, motels, etc. you would be better off and let them ship it. Also when you transport it any dmages are on you. When they ship it the damages are on them/trucking company.

We've done it twice in the last two years and saved about 20%.
Ordered it over the phone, paid by credit card and paid the trucker in cash when it was delivered and inspected.

we have furnished two house's from funitureland south. flew both times, stayed a couple of nights and still saved a boat load of money. If you know what you want they can quote it right over the phone with faxed photo's. if you are not sure of what you want you need at least a few days down there. the selection is unbelivable. i had no idea that you could pick out both the color and the shape of the legs of your couch.
have them ship cheaper than sales tax and they take very good care of it. have had only one piece damaged and the driver himself was the one that pointed it out to me first. plus they set it up in your house..
i can't say enough nice things about the expirience.

oso addiction,
I'll call you this week.
Stringer might have me hooked up on some Ashley pieces, but the rest of the stuff that wife wants is in the Thomasville, American Drew, and Drexel Heritage stuff.
I'm in Hendersonville, and have a big trailer, but won't turn down a delivery either!
You guys are cool.
